About Alex

I am currently completing a Masters Degree at St. Catherine University to become a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW).  I have 6 years experience working directly with children and families in therapeutic settings. I primarily work with children between the ages of 5 and 18 who have experienced social or familial trauma or neglect resulting in behavioral issues in their educational and/or home environments. I also work with families and adults who are healing from trauma.

I assist clients in understanding their emotional responses to the world around them through the use of evidence-based therapeutic practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, Mindfulness, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I assist clients in achieving greater emotional regulation skills, and help them find ways of getting their needs met more effectively.
