I aim to help clients explore their inner worlds with curiosity, examine behaviors and patterns that no longer align with their values, and challenge the negative self-talk that keeps them stuck. Together, we work to cultivate deeper self-compassion, tap into inner wisdom, make sense of past experiences, and overcome barriers to living more authentically.
My therapeutic approach is influenced by the work of Janina Fisher, focusing on the mind-body connection—specifically how trauma and/or difficult experiences are stored in the body. I integrate attachment, somatic, and psychodynamic theories to help clients understand how these experiences shape emotions and behaviors. We work together to regulate the nervous system and reconnect with all parts of the self, fostering a sense of wholeness. Psychoeducation is a key element of my work, as it helps us better understand your concerns and provides context for past behaviors. By exploring how early life experiences influence your current feelings and responses, we can work together to create healthier patterns. I use a combination of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based interventions, and ongoing education to support clients in exploring their internal and relational worlds. I am also trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) a trauma-focused therapy that uses guided eye movements and visualization to help people reprocess distressing memories, reducing their emotional impact without needing to talk about the details. Ultimately, I strive to help clients cultivate self-compassion, heal from past wounds, and live more fulfilling lives.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors in my garden, exercising, traveling, attending concerts, binge-watching HBO shows, and navigating the highs and lows of being a passionate Minnesota sports fan. My happy place is being by the lake or near water, spending time with my husband and our adorable rescue dog, Mina.
